PET ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTICS
We use a handheld device during an ultrasound exam to deliver ultrasound waves into the patient's body. The echoes from these waves bounce back to the pet ultrasound machine, translating them into detailed images. We use this equipment to examine the lymph nodes, spleen, liver, pancreas, intestinal tract, kidneys, heart, eyes, and reproductive organs. Pet ultrasound even allows us to watch the heart as it beats in real time. This diagnostic imaging provides a complete internal view of a patient's organs, while an X-ray will only show their size and shape. Pet ultrasound also allows us to detect and diagnose nodules, cysts, abscesses, and masses.
